Travels Around the Mission

We attended some planning meetings in Clinton and then in Hattiesburg.  It was tons of fun to see some of the missionaries this soon after Zone Conferences.

The president had more meetings so we headed to Shreveport and saw more missionaries.  They are gorgeous and handsome!  I didn't have my camera out.  I promise I'll do better.  Below are the missionaries we saw later in the day.  So glad to get to see them!

Able trainers and progressing new-ish and new missionaries!
We are grateful for them and proud of them.

Next day we headed to El Dorado.  Wonderful missionaries there as well!

Sigh. More Good-byes.

I never know how things will go on when wonderful missionaries leave.
Each makes such a good difference in our lives
and the lives of all the missionaries here.
We will miss these (and all the other) senior missionaries!

Last minute phone lesson.
It was hard for her to give up the phone, her link to the missionaries she loves.
Thank goodness for the new senior missionaries!

He kept things rolling.  She kept us laughing.  She gave the plaque to the president.
You've heard that saying before!

Visitors to Mississippi

We were able to meet our baby granddaughter who is now 6 months old.
Our daughter was inspired to invite my mom to come.  My mom is 93 years old.
My daughter takes after her dad in the courage department.
My mom is spry and able!

After two delays, a cancelled flight, an unplanned overnight stay in Texas
(sounds strangely familiar),
and dealing with all the luggage twice,
they made it to Mississippi.

They were all "troopers!"

What a blessing to me!

Photographer

For our group picture before the sisters left the mission home,
our able APs took lots of pictures on lots of cameras.
Quite remarkable, that managing feat!

Sad for us, Joyous for their families!

Another group of excellent missionaries complete their service and head for home.
How blessed we have been to know and love each one!
Watch out, World!

You know that hole the President drilled?

Turns out it didn't go through the pipe.
No hole where the president had drilled!
Where's the leak?
Above the place he drilled there was a screw that held the old transfer board.
While the old transfer board was in place, the screw that held the board
created but also plugged a hole in the pipe.
When the screw was removed, the hole was unplugged.
We discovered a leak when one of the showers was turned on upstairs and
water was coming out of the light switches.
I blamed the President. He took responsibility.
The Facilities Management people found the leak.
Vindicated!

Welcome to Mississippi!

You'll love it!

 Beautiful day in Mississippi!

Lunch at the church and then another group picture.
We're feeling very blessed to have these new missionaries!

Blooms and Blossoms - 'Tis the Season!

We found this tree very interesting with the Spanish moss hanging down among the blossoms!

Sometime between the blossoms on the tree above and the blooms below,
we experienced green pine pollen.  This is the hood of the van.
I don't think I've ever seen pollen this thick.

Azaleas burst into bloom while we were gone for Zone Conferences.  Each day more pop out.

And dogwoods too.  We heard it will look almost like snow as they bloom among the pines.
We were amazed to see two colors blooming on one dogwood tree.  We stopped.  Here's the picture.
Wisteria are also blooming.  We didn't stop for any pictures, but they're gorgeous too.

Magnolia trees are especially beautiful.  They aren't blooming yet.  Huge tree.

General Conference

We visited these handsome missionaries and attended General Conference with them at their building about 28 miles away.  They are dedicated, good missionaries.  We love them and are proud of them.

The building was set up to view General Conference.  Members chose to stay at home to watch it.  We enjoyed being with these missionaries and especially enjoyed General Conference!
Aren't we blessed!

Two DDMs

With our increased numbers of missionaries, the president and assistants have created more districts.  Here are two that meet in the same building.  We attended one of these DDMs (that's District Development Meeting not Delightful District Meeting).  It is delightful to get together with these wonderful missionaries and as always I am strengthened, lifted, inspired by their testimonies and awed by their wisdom.
